These are the purest form of incense. They are usually burned on charcoal discs in a heat proof dish, or in a censer burner. They produce a fair bit of smoke, so are particularly useful for cleansing areas and creating an atmospheric calm. These are sold by the gram, minimum weight is 20g.

Amber - Amber resin is beautifully aromatic, and intoxicating. It has a wonderfully rich scent. Often referred to as ‘Nectar of the Gods’, or ‘Ambrosia’. Spiritually Amber is used for mediation, and is also used in oil burners or as a perfume. It often contains both honey and beeswax, so is not suitable for vegans.

Copal - Copal incense is completely natural incense that is used to purify the energy of spaces, places and objects. It has a clean, light, woody scent that could be compared to pine or turpentine. One of the best copal uses is burning it to clear away all the negative energy and make positive changes.

Frankincense - Frankincense is used for pain and swelling in people with various diseases. Also used for flatulence, wound healing, and many other conditions, but there is no good scientific evidence to support any use. Frankincense is also used as a flavouring agent in foods and as a fragrance in soaps, lotions, and perfumes.

Myrrh - Myrrh is used for indigestion, ulcers, colds, cough, asthma, lung congestion, arthritis pain, cancer, leprosy, spasms, and syphilis. It is also used as a stimulant and to increase menstrual flow.
